Convergence Project Santa Fe us excited to announce their second annual Oasis Festival, featuring headliner Surfer Blood and local teen artists Lily & Gray, DJ Dontloveme, DJ Oli and more to be announced. Food trucks, an installation from Make Santa Fe and other art/merchandise will surround the stage.
Named after drummer Tyler Schwarz’s high school backpack, he and lead vocalist formed the indie rock band Surfer Blood with now-deceased guitarist Thomas Fekete in 2009. They had not released new music after the death of Fekete to cancer and the departure of long-time bass guitarist Kevin Williams, until the release of Snowdonia in February of this year. The album features tracks with a loose and warm feeling in spite of the recent tragedies. The bitterness of their previous album Pythons was ditched in exchange for a reinvigorated feeling of purpose.
The Convergence Project is aimed at integrating Santa Fe youth into the larger Santa Fe social scene by providing networking opportunities and new outlets for artistic expression by Santa Fe teens.
