Jane Fitz is a revered selector. A DJ for over 20 years, Jane has been a resident at legendary and truly boutique UK festival Freerotation, as well as at Meadows in the Mountains in Bulgaria and in London at Night Moves and Cartuli’s Day. At home in the UK she plays at respected parties such as Louche, Butter Side Up, Below, DiY, Black Dot, Secretsundaze and fabric and never fails to impress with her deep selections and great sense of narrative.
In the past year alone this diminutive and dexterous DJ has played all over the world, from New York to Paris, Berlin to Tokyo, Moscow to Rajasthan, and is able to lay it down in all settings from fields to clubs, boats, mountains, deserts, warehouses, beaches and basements, always bringing a hard-to-categorise selection that blends early UK acid house with deep, psychedelic house and techno. Her career was built on her DJing alone – not on productions, or associations with record labels or FM radio, and for that reason she is one of the most talented in the game. However, in 2014 a debut release as one half of production duo Invisible Menders was released on cult UK label Porn Wax and proved that Jane is just as able in the studio. A new EP for Boe Recordings lands in 2015, with more to follow from this fascinating soundsmith.
Philadelphia’s Sean Thomas has been involved with subversive dance culture since 1995. Initially as one of the Circle Crew (fka Special K), throwing the massive “IT!” raves and “Yoman” club nights which helped expose proper music, sound and production throughout America’s East Coast. Later as a DJ and producded, he earned his reputation and place among a storied list of Philly selectors. Renowned for his dedication, Sean’s enthusiasm for house and techno can only be experienced on the dancefloor– DJIng isn’t a cerebral exercise for Sean, it’s a physical one. He’s compelled to explore depths of sound and find new sonic pathways for movement.
Billiam is Meow Wolf DJ known for his power. His selections are moody and dark in a fun way, not like your middle school friend who shopped at Hot Topic. The technical execution of his mixes are enviable. This is his first appearance at Fancy Town; it won’t be his last.
