Evarusnik, Chris Berry of Panjea, Homer Sparks (Evarusnik – Sjór – Album Release)

EVARUSNIK was founded in 2009 in Santa Fe, New Mexico by vocalist Miranda Scott and composer/multi-instrumentalist Andrew Tumason. Supported by Tumason’s cinematic compositions of world/classical/acoustic instrumentation, Miranda captivates audiences with a passionate Fado-influenced vocal performance. From a soulful duo, to a four-piece rock band, to a cinematic orchestra, Evarusnik bridges a haunting edge with soulful melodies that enliven the imagination.

Evarusnik has collaborated with filmscore percussionist Greg Ellis for their 2010 release, High Collar Dark Sky. Following was their 2013 release, In a Poker Slash Refrain, which was made possible through crowdfunding in support of their San Francisco recording experience on 2″ analog tape with guitarist Mark Engles (Dredg/Black Map). Evarusnik’s latest recording project was conceived in an Icelandic studio owned by Sigur Ros, to be released Nov 11, 2016. Both full length Evarusnik albums have reached different audiences through the Independent Music Awards and New Mexico Music Awards.

These dreamy arrangements keep it beautiful without losing that edge for which all great music is known.”- Santa Fe reporter

“Exotic and Ethereal” – NM Magazine

Chris Berry of Panjea

Grammy award winner Chris Berry is an eclectic singer and songwriter, multi-instrumentalist virtuoso, and high-energy performer and teacher. From his humble beginning during Robert Mugabe’s regime in Zimbabwe, he has blasted his powerful Afro-infused sound around the World for over twenty years; rocking audiences from NYC’s Irving Plaza to sold out stadiums in South Africa and Sydney Australia’s famous Opera House. He has released over a dozen albums; scored the soundtrack for three films; and has been collaborating and performing with some of the World’s best performers like Eminem, Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann, Senegalese Afro-Pop sensation Yousoou N’dour, Cuban Legends Los Munequitos de Mantanzas, Jazz artist Paul Winter, Jamaican rhythm and production duo Sly (Dunbar) and Robbie (Shakespeare), Fugee’s producer Handel Tucker, and many more.

Homer Sparks is one guy from central North Carolina. He plays, records, and produces all of his own music from his home studio; now in Tesuque, New Mexico. Homer Sparks’ sound can best be described as Folk-Electronic-Indie. Homer Sparks draws influence from artists such as Sufjan Stevens, Radiohead, Menomena, and Nate Henricks.

Currently he is writing his largest album yet, of about 20 songs or more which will be focusing on all things New Mexico; from historical events interwoven with autobiographical events, New Mexican myth and folklore. Banjos, acoustic and electric guitars, synthesizers on top of synthesizers, drum machines, and even full orchestras accompany the New Mexican album.
